Flora refers to the plants, trees, and fungi within the world of Sons of The Forest.
Trees[ | ]
Trees can be found all over the island and are difficult to miss. They consist predominantly of conifers across the north side of the island, while broadleaf trees dominate the southern side of the island. Depending on the size of the tree, when chopped with any axe or the chainsaw, they can drop between two and five logs. Smaller saplings only drop sticks when felled.
Bushes[ | ]
Bushes of all shapes and sizes grow all over the island, covering the forest floor. Some bear flowers that cannot be harvested. They provide cover for both cannibals and players. When crouching, if a player is touching a bush, regardless of size or portion of the player covered, the player gains coverage, making them practically invisible to animals and enemies who haven't detected them yet. Chopping bushes yield leaves, but more branching bushes can drop 1-3 sticks.
Berry Bushes[ | ]
Blueberries[ | ]
Round, blue berries, the bushes of which bear white flowers in spring. They are the dominant edible berry of the west side of the island, but can be found anywhere. They can be eaten or harvested. Drops seeds.
Blackberries[ | ]
Berries in name only, blackberries are characterized by a drupelet fruits that grow red and ripen black. The leaves of their bushes are lighter in color from other brush. They are the dominant edible berry of the east side of the island, but can be found anywhere. They can be eaten or harvested. Drops seeds.
Salmonberries[ | ]
A small berry bush that bears salmon colored berries. They can be difficult to spot, being one of the smaller berry bushes. They appear predominantly across the north side of the island, but can be found anywhere. They can be eaten or harvested. Drops seeds.
Guarana berries[ | ]
A tropical, red berry that grows on a broad leaf bush. They can be found predominantly across the south side of the island and up the coast of the east side. They can be eaten or harvested. Restores Sleep and Hunger and Energy when eaten. Drops seeds.
Snowberries[ | ]
Poisonous white berries. They can be found closer to the mountain and predominantly across the east of the island. They can be eaten or harvested. Drops seeds.
Twinberries[ | ]
Poisonous, dark berries that grow in pairs. They can be found closer to the mountain and predominantly across the west of the island. They can be eaten or harvested. Drops seeds.
Mushrooms[ | ]
Shiitake Mushroom[ | ]
A squat, edible mushroom that is dark brown. It can be eaten or harvested.
King Oyster[ | ]
A thick, edible mushroom with a small, brown cap. It can be eaten or harvested.
Hydnum Repandum[ | ]
An edible mushroom with a broad trumpet shape. It can be eaten or harvested.
Fly Amanita Mushroom[ | ]
A poisonous mushroom characterized by it's bright red cap and white spots. It can be eaten or harvested.

Aloe Vera[ | ]
A stemless plant characterized by large, fleshy leaves. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds.
Chicory[ | ]
An herb characterized by pale flowers. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds.
Devil's Club[ | ]
A poisonous plant characterized by a red club of berry-like fruit. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds.
Horsetail[ | ]
A green plant characterized by its long stem and needle-like leaves. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds.
Yarrow[ | ]
An herb characterized by white flowers. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds.
Arrowleaf[ | ]
An herb characterized by yellow flowers. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds.
Fireweed[ | ]
A nutrient rich flowering herb characterized by its pink flowers. It can be eaten or harvested. It's used in multiple crafting recipes. Drops seeds. When eaten raw restores a decent amount of Hydration and Hunger, whilst also regaining some Vitality
